Abercrombie & Fitch playlists from 2003-2010 now available

Working to make this site even more complete, I learned Abercrombie & Fitch has played a lot of music in the past 7 years, ranging from pop, dance (call it what you like), trance, and even somewhat classical (this one song is an example). And since they were not anywhere except in the US until 2007 (remember the London flagship store), the music that was played at the store was nearly making its US début, especially songs that never get promoted in the US, such as Almighty songs. Some of these are still not available on US iTunes, but totally available for those in the UK. That is the case for many of the songs. Some are even only available to Germany. I personally enjoy knowing my taste in music comes from numerous sources and long physical distances (my personal largest collection of music is from the UK). Rachel Stevens is a good example as A&F has played a version of her one single 'More, More, More' and another song.

Abercrombie looking for songs for the next playlist!

On the official A&F page on Facebook you can read the post. I put in my word. Any songs from Jenn Cuneta, Danielle Bollinger, and Kim Sozzi (all artists who have been on before) would be great. The 'Absolutely Not' club remix from Deborah Cox would be killer also. If they are really taking input for what I presume to be the Summer 2010 playlist (should start in May, if not then April), then this is great.

There are a great number of Kim Sozzi songs to choose from, my favourites being (from the album Just One Day):

  • 'Edge of a Broken Heart' (Anton Bass Radio Edit)
  • 'Break Up' (Cascada Edit)
  • 'Open Up Your Heart' (Bellatrax Radio Edit)
  • 'Just One Day' (Original Mix)

Abercrombie & Fitch Spring Break 2010 song reviews

I spent a few hours and listened to some of the spring 2010 playlist for Abercrombie & Fitch. Here are 10 random song reviews.

Lady GaGa - 'Bad Romance' (Bimbo Jones Radio Mix)

I am not much of a Lady GaGa fan. In fact most of the time I prefer dance remixes and this is no exception. This is way better than the original version, which hurts my ears every time. It finally sounds like it should!

Rating: 4/5

Billie Myers - 'Wonderful' (Barry Harris Saturday Night Club Mix)

I listened to the full (DJ) version of this song (16 minutes). It has an okay intro, of course you would not hear this in the club but even so it is good there. Once the lyrics kick in it is great. Great vocalist (no idea who she is). The lyrics are a tiny bit repetitive but very catchy. This remix has a bit of a cowbell loop during the 'chorus' (part between verses). There is a breakdown that A&F probably does not play at the store because it really slows the song down a lot. The song goes about 2/3 the speed then speeds back up. Overall kind of cool, then with some (as usual) kick rolls we are back in the song.

This song is not generic trance or house, but this song definitely does not have me jumping out of my chair ready to do a dance-off. A tad bit too slow for me.
