Abercrombie & Fitch playlists from 2003-2010 now available

Working to make this site even more complete, I learned Abercrombie & Fitch has played a lot of music in the past 7 years, ranging from pop, dance (call it what you like), trance, and even somewhat classical (this one song is an example). And since they were not anywhere except in the US until 2007 (remember the London flagship store), the music that was played at the store was nearly making its US début, especially songs that never get promoted in the US, such as Almighty songs. Some of these are still not available on US iTunes, but totally available for those in the UK. That is the case for many of the songs. Some are even only available to Germany. I personally enjoy knowing my taste in music comes from numerous sources and long physical distances (my personal largest collection of music is from the UK). Rachel Stevens is a good example as A&F has played a version of her one single 'More, More, More' and another song.

A lot of songs got recalled over the past years and some have been recalled as long as years later, not just months. One good example is Dimension X's 'Why'd I Have to Fall in Love with You', a classic dance tune that never seems to get old for anyone who's a true fan of the A&F playlists.

I have to thank my good friend for putting in the time to put these songs in the database. It takes time and effort and I put in my part to make sure about spelling corrections, remix names, etc. I only wish I could confirm every song that's listed. I thank all that have commented about corrections. I am not out to make a quick buck, but to have the most complete DB for A&F altogether that's possible. Unfortunately it seems I cannot find any source for anything before 2000 when it comes to A&F. For Gilly Hicks, every source stops at January 2008 (this is when the store was first opened) so that would almost seem like its complete but I am certain there are songs missing. When it comes to Hollister Co., we all know it has been around for much longer than 2 years (more like 10) and nobody got a hold of any sort of its playlists till 2008. That's why it stops there.

That leaves RUEHL No.925, the store that unfortunately just was too far ahead of its time, as I say. I visited my local RUEHL as it was one of the few in the nation and I thought it was really cool. I have not been to that mall since the closing but I am sure the property is now another store. Of course at that same mall there is the first Gilly Hicks to open, but I'm not a girl so it's not exactly my thing. The last time I went to RUEHL was not during its closing (where everything was 50% off), but just a bit before, and I got a little pamphlet about Gilly Hicks. Why? Abercrombie sometimes does strange things (like having the tagline set to 'Have you seen our Facebook page?', which is a great idea for social marketing but I'm not enticed to see A&F's Facebook page because of that).

So I know some of you might be wondering why the RUEHL playlists are incomplete. No time! When they are ready to be up, they will be up. I have most of the playlists back to 2006. If you have a month you want to see, let me know by posting a comment here. We'll try to get it up as soon as possible. A&F kind of takes priority but we know it looks a bit odd that we have such a big list for A&F, abercrombie kids, Gilly Hicks, and a decent list for Hollister, but RUEHL stop short at one page and less than 50 songs listed for some reason.

Lastly, we will get the rest of the Abercrombie & Fitch playlists that we have up soon (2000-2002). So for now, rather than looking at the current list as great as it is, have a look at the past too. There are some good gems there as well. It seems A&F has played every Danielle Bollinger single in some form or another. They've also played so much Deborah Cox (one of my absolute favourite singers ever). While they didn't play Heaven, they did play 'Why' by DJ Sammy. In fact they even played 2 versions.

And for you Hollister Co. fans, 'Animal' by Neon Trees has made it to Rock Band. See here for more details. As a big fan of Rock Band, this is good news.
